We’ve Been Working on the Railroad…the Keystone Corridor, That Is!

TMACC continues to advocate for cleaner air and less traffic in Chester County, by its support of the advancement of the Keystone Corridor.  The Keystone Corridor is a 349-mile railroad corridor between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that consists of two rail lines: Amtrak's Philadelphia-to-Harrisburg main line, which also hosts SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Line commuter rail service; and the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line.

On Thursday, August 13, TMACC hosted a Zoominar, Keystone Corridor: Investment in Opportunity. The event provided updates on the progress of the Corridor, with a focus on the 10-mile section of the Harrisburg Line, which passes through parts of Chester County. These improvements will impact the area and the surrounding communities by, among other things, increasing safety, improving ride quality and speed, and upgrading several train stations.

Speakers included Jennie A. Granger, AICP - Deputy Secretary, PA Department of Transportation, Multimodal; Robert L. Lund Jr., P.E., Deputy General Manager, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority; Kevin Jurgelewicz, Head of Production, AMTRAK; and Ian Bowen, Associate Director, EConsult Solutions, INC
