TMACC will launch a special promotion this spring to inform commuters about the significant changes to SEPTA’s bus routes in Chester County.
SEPTA reconfigured its Route 92 bus route to add areas once served by two recently terminated bus routes, the 306 and 314. Routes 306 and 314, both terminated due to low ridership, provided service to the greater West Chester region. Route 306 provided service from West Chester to the Great Valley Corporate Center. Route 314 connected the borough to the Government Services Center at 601 Westtown Road.
The revised Route 92 will continue to provide service from Exton to King of Prussia, but will provide service to corporate office parks and shopping centers along the old Route 306 and 314 routes in the greater West Chester area. The Brandywine Business Park, the QVC complex and the Goshen Corporate Park will now be served by Route 92.
Although the Government Services Center will no longer be served by transit, Route 92 will continue to serve West Chester and Immaculata universities, Exton Square Mall and regional rail stations in Malvern and Paoli.
TMACC staff will target the colleges, corporate office parks and retail corridors for transit promotions, especially the connections to jobs, shopping and rail connections to Philadelphia and the Northeast Corridor.
“We plan to partner with local chambers of commerce in the areas served by the Route 92 to promote transit as a valuable asset to the business community and quality of life of residents and students,” said TMACC Executive Director P. Timothy Phelps. “Chester County residents want and need transportation options. It is our charge to inform them of those options.”
